Simple
Simple
Words and Music by Me
I know that I am simple
Perhaps the butt of jokes
The swishing tails of bovine
Two by two in yoke
Pulling the plow is good
I’m happy to be of use
I wasn’t always docile
A call to help refused
If you look into my eyes
You may see they’re soft
You may see into my heart
As I’m drinking from the trough
My sharp edges dull
In head and horn alike
How may I be of service
To the people in this life?
I know that I am simple
It was here I found my mirth
The light of sun was clouded
By earthly things and worth
To sew the seeds in Spring
To harvest in the Fall
To laugh when things are funny
To answer when people call
If you look into my eyes
You may see they’re soft
You may see into my heart
As I’m drinking from the trough
My sharp edges dull
In head and horn alike
How may I be of service
To the people in this life?
