This song starts off with an unexpected pregnancy, and ends with happy parents, observing their own reflection from their youth, in their children.
In my own experience, life doesn’t go as planned. It is full of surprises and difficulties and trajectories that are unanticipated, yet full of beauty—it’s as if we stumble through life, tripping and falling into the next phase.
I wrote this song with my friend @nathankmusic while I was in Nashville several weeks back. Thank you for listening to our work. I’m so very proud of what we made together—and I hope that this tune might find you and circle a few times in your lap, before curling up, softly, in a warm place around your heart.
I don’t know what to call it. Maybe “The Next Thing” or “Stumbling (Into the Next Thing)”.
