I'm a Semi-Finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Competition
My song Rare Bird was chosen out of 5,000 songwriters to be a semi-finalist in this year’s Unsigned Only Music Competition.
This is a rather prestigious honor, given the nature of the people judging the event, which include Aimee Mann, LeAnn Rimes, Robert Smith (of The Cure), Jill Scott, Chris Curlos of OAR, Arty, Nicholas Petricca from Walk the Moon, Janiva Magness, The Devil Makes Three, Masa Takumi, Sanctus Real, Rodney Atkins, Ruthie Foster, as well as music editors from publications such as Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine, and executives from talent management and consulting.
Rare Bird was entered into the Folk and Singer-Songwriter category. I’m thankful that some people out there dig my music. I’m appreciative.
This song sent me to the Kerrville Folk Festival again this year and I’m stoked about the connections this tune has helped me to garner this year amongst my peers and music aficionados or fans or whatever might be the best nomenclature for someone who digs my creativity.
